This menu allows you to manually start and stop the various operations:
Unbatch…
• Select this item if you wish to manually select a newsbatch. You will be presented with the standard system open dialog.
Unbatch Batch Folder
• To manually unbatch ALL newsbatches that are in the default batch folder, select this menu item. This is a quick way to start the unbatching of many newsbatches -- you don't have to wait for the program's automatic newsbatch watcher to notice that there are newsbatches in the default batch folder.
Stop Unbatching
• Selecting this item will stop any news unbatching that might be taking place.
Expire All Now
• To manually expire all old news in every active newsgroup, select this item. This is a good way of freeing up some space on your spool folder's hard disk.
Stop Expiring
• Selecting this item will stop any news expiring that might be taking place.
Thread All Newsgroups
• To manually start the external threader, select this item. If no external threader has been chosen from the Threader preferences dialog, then this item will be gray.
You can also Close, Save, or Print the Log window from here, as well as adjusting any kind of printer settings.
The Edit Menu

This menu houses the standard system cut-and-paste commands for edit fields.
The ToadNews Menu

This menu contains the items that will allow you to edit ToadNews-specific preferences.

The other options in the ToadNews menu include Auto Unbatching and Auto Expiring. You can turn either of these options on and off from the menus' submenus. It is recommended that you turn both of these on as ToadNews will do all of the work for you. This is especially desirable if you are running ToadNews in the background.

The Preferences sub-menu allows you choose the view and edit the preferences for a particular component of ToadNews (such as the Unbatcher, Expirer, or the Log window).
The Windows Menu

Erase Log
• Selecting this item will erase the contents of the log buffer. It is a quick way of freeing up the memory that ToadNews uses to save the log window messages in memory. ToadNews will erase the log itself automatically if it needs more room to handle the news.
Hide/Show Progress
• Selecting this menu item will toggle the visibility of the Progress window.
Hide/Show Log
• Selecting this menu item will toggle the visibility of the Log window.
Hide/Show Newsgroups
• Selecting this menu item toggles the visibility of the Newsgroups window.
Hide/Show Schedule
• Selecting this menu item toggles the visibility of the Schedule window.
